Bath FestivalsThroughout the year Bath hosts a number of small and medium-sized festivals. Tickets and further information for the music and literature festivals can be obtained from Bath Festivals Box Office, 2 Church Street, Abbey Green (close to Bath Tourist Information Office).
Bath Literature FestivalBath Literature Festival 2005 runs between Saturday 26 February - Sunday 6 March. Events mostly take place in the Guildhall, where there are also a special festival cafe and bookshop. Speakers include David Starkey (Monarchy), Tony Benn, Kazuo Ishiguro, Richard Dawkins and Jon Snow. Bath International Music FestivalThe dates for Bath International Music Festival 2005 are Friday 20 May to Sunday 5 June 2005. The festival always offers a strong line-up of classical music events, although to many of Bath's residents the festival is chiefly noteworthy for its spectacular opening ceremony in front of the Royal Crescent. Bath Fringe FestivalBATH FRINGE 2005 - Friday May 27 to Sunday June 12. A wide range of alternative events, concerts, shows. International Guitar FestivalThe International Guitar Foundation run an annual summer school/festival at Bath Spa University College. 2005 dates are 12-27 August, and due to works at the Bath Spa campus, the school is set to take place at Monkton Combe School, just south of Bath. Bath Film FestivalAn Autumn event taking place at the Little Theatre cinema and other local venues, with film showings, talks and workshops. MozartfestAs its name suggests, a festival dedicated to Mozart. The 2004 event took place between 12th and 24th November at Bath Abbey, Guildhall and Assembly Rooms. Jane Austen FestivalA recent addition to Bath's festival calendar, the Jane Austen festival will run from 17th -25th September 2005. Organised by the Jane Austen Centre, the event includes talks and opportunities for Regency fans to dress up in costume. Bath International Puppet FestivalRunning from March 25th - April 2nd 2005, this is billed as 'Britain's biggest celebration of the art of adult puppetry'.
